A Refreshing New Start

I’ve been asked to write my first ever blog for work. Eek! Where do I start? Let’s go from the beginning and before joining the exciting and vibrant world of Citrus Content…

I have explored different career paths over the past few years, from nursing children and premature babies; to training as a barista; to venue and events management. So how have I ended up in a social media role?

Well, I never thought I’d be interested in any kind of marketing or media job. I always thought it sounded dull, boring and tiresome. How wrong I was! As part of an apprenticeship in an arts venue, I decided to try my hand at some social media and marketing tasks. And to my surprise, I loved it! I ended up managing the social media accounts, discovered the creative inner me, stepped into a whole new world of opportunities, and I haven’t looked back.

So now I’m three weeks into my new job and I already feel like part of #teamcitrus, a #Citruslady and another segment of the orange! I couldn’t have asked for a better welcome… after all, my first week was #chocolateweek and it ended with afternoon tea courtesy of Citrus boss Andrea. Perfect for a chocoholic with a sweet-tooth like me!

In the short time, I’ve been at #Citruscentral so far, I can already see what a wonderful, zesty and supportive team I’ve been lucky enough to join. The days are flying by and I’m learning something new every day. Whether that’s Amy’s latest celebrity news, snippets of Andrea’s extensive industry knowledge or Vicky’s favourite biscuit! I’m also extremely excited to meet Tank as I absolutely love dogs! He might even get to meet Pepsi one day (#Puppylove!). I’m sure Pepsi is soon to become Citrus pup number two!

So far, it’s been a whirlwind of learning, creativity, inspiration and getting stuck in. At the end of the day, I leave work with a smile on my face, and I am by no means a morning person, but even getting up for work doesn’t seem so bad when you enjoy what you do! So joining Citrus really has been a refreshing new start for me.

The only downside is that the job involves looking at beautiful, million-pound properties on sale with our estate agent clients every day and amazing, inspiring interior design articles too. But a girl can dream, right?!?! As my favourite saying goes – “Always aim for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars!”
